Noah Thompson Becomes New Champion of ‘American Idol’ with Rihanna’s Stay

America’s biggest search event ‘American Idol’ season 20, has a new champion, Noah Thompson. Noah Thompson, HunterGirl, and Leah Marlene made it into the final round of American Idol season 20 which was held on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

After the results were announced, Noah Thompson was named the new champion over fellow finalists, HunterGirl and Leah Marlene. The 20-year-old winner performed three songs for the final: Bruce Springsteen’s I’m on Fire, his original ‘One Day Tonight’ and Rihanna’s ‘Stay’.

Meanwhile, HunterGirl, took second place with a rendition of Dancing in the Dark, the original song Red Bird, and a represe from Riot.

Meanwhile, Marlene, was in third place after performing the song Cover Me and the original song, entitled Flowers

American Idol was hosted by Ryan Seacrest, with guest stars Flo Rida, Melissa Etheridge, Sara Bareilles, Michael Bublé, Ben Platt, James Arthur, Thomas Rhett, Deana Carter, Tai Verdes, season 16 finalist Gabby Barrett, and Earth, Wind & Fire, as well as the top 10 contestants and other judges.
